"THE CAT SHOW"
BY JUDY STARR
HAS CATS CLIMBING THE WALLS IN THE EAST VILLAGE
Judy Starr's pussycat watercolors and acrylics have
garnered purrs of delight
from art and animal lovers citywide. Now Pet-I-Care is providing the perfect
venue for "The Cat Show by Judy Starr" at their sanctuary for rescued animals.
The public
is invited to view this "fur laden" exhibit at
The East Village Veterinarian
@ 241 Eldridge Street
any Mo, Tue, Th, Fri from 9am - 3:30pm
or Wed, Sat from 10am - 12:30pm
The pets will
be also be available to be looked at or cuddled.
Judy Starr has been fascinated by and a lover of cats for most of her artistic
life.
Luckily her models are naturally disposed to sit for an hour watching a fishtank
or
will languorously pose between meals on their favorite sofas. For their more
manic
moments she works from photos that capture the airborne leaps, regal attitudes
or predatory posturing while attacking a dustball under the piano.
Her "non-shedding" work appeals especially to New
Yorkers who aren't allowed
to have pets in their apartments or who are allergic to cats.
You can take home a watercolor and/or the real thing at this unique exhibit.
All the portraits are for sale with 20% of the proceeds being donated to
the NY Pet-I-Care Inc., Adoption Program.
Pet-I-Care is a grassroots non-profit program of
professionals and volunteers
who give willingly of their time and collective talents to provide shelter,
medical care, training and socialization to as many abused and abandoned
strays that can be accommodated. They seek exceptional adoptive homes
where they can feel safe and loved.
Dr. Pete Schaubhut runs The East Village Veterinarian with traditional and
homeopathic care. He can be reached at 212-674-8640.
